Siem renews MPSV charter for Triton border control programme in the Med

Justis & Beredskapsdepartementet, the Norwegian Ministry of Justice and Public Security, has extended its existing charter of Siem Meling Offshore’s multipurpose platform supply vessel Siem Pilot (5,000 dwt, built 2010) by a further six months.

The vessel has been used in border control, search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean Sea under the Triton operation conducted by Frontex, the European Union’s border security agency since May 2015.

The contract extension includes options and will commence as soon as the present contract expires. Its value was not disclosed.
