Singapore: The traditional hubs of Singapore and London are “super busy” hiring, while there’s more growth in shipping hires in Hong Kong as companies see this as “China for beginners”, Mark Charman, ceo of UK recruitment firm, Faststream, has told our sister site, Maritime CEO in an exclusive interview.
The Faststream boss said he heard more and more that companies are finding employment costs in Singapore prohibitive but he is not seeing a decrease in hiring.
“Our Singapore operations will expand into Hong Kong next year. We are delivering an unprecedented amount of business in Hong Kong now,” he revealed, adding: “We see the wider Asia Pacific region as offering good potential for expansion. Locations like Myanmar will need maritime people for the offshore sector.”
