Sinopec inks drilling rig contract with Maersk

Beijing: Addax Petroleum, a subsidiary of one of the largest Chinese oil industry players, has inked a jack-up contact with Maersk Drilling. The drilling rig will be used for Maersk to expand business in West Africa.

The total contract value is around $1m and lasts for two years, starting next month.

The jack up Maersk Endurer was acquired by Maersk Drilling in 1996 and was upgraded for working on the UK sector of the North Sea.  [25/09/12]
