Sinopec rig awarded Nigerian contract

Chinese energy giant Sinopec has announced that subsidiary Shengli Petroleum Engineering has been awarded a contract to provide drilling services for the Newcross project in Nigeria.

Shengli Petroleum will deploy its submersible drilling rig  Sheng Li No.4 for the project. The contract period is one firm year plus a one-year option. Total value of the contract is about $50m.

The drilling works will commence in the beginning of 2018.
