SIPG bids for Israeli port rights

Shanghai: Shanghai International Port (Group) has long vowed to get in on the act of international terminal acquisitions. It is now moving to build up an overseas network with news from Israel that SIPG has submitted a bid to run a terminal there. SIPG is one of four companies to have bid for the rights for what is a controversial port development.

Plans to build Israel’s first private terminals have sparked protests from the nation’s port operators, but Tel Aviv says the new ports are vital to reduce logistics costs in the nation.  [14/04/14]
