SITC optimistic about intra-Asia market

Shanghai: SITC International Holdings released its 2012 results yesterday. It achieved revenue of $1.2bn in 2012, up 13.6% year-on-year and net profit reached $93.48m, roughly the same as the $93.55m it achieved in 2011.

“During the year 2012, the global shipping industry performance was still lingering at the bottom on the whole despite a slow recovery being underway. The intra-Asia container shipping market still maintained a remarkable growth benefiting from higher economic and trade growth in the PRC and Southeast Asian countries, and remained the world’s largest shipping market,” said Yang Shaopeng, Chairman of SITC

In related news Yang Xianxiang, the company’s ceo, has taken on the additional role of vice chairman.  [12/03/13]
