Hamburg: SMM, the world’s largest shipping event, comes to a close today. Despite record numbers – both globally and from a China perspective – the air of doom and gloom was palpable. While the stands were remarkably busy, the Baltic Dry Index in London continued to plunge, dropping a further nine points yesterday to 675 points.
