Hamburg: There’s less than two months to go before the world’s largest shipping show kicks off in Hamburg. SMM is fast approaching, and with 90,000 sq m of exhibition space, more than 2,000 exhibitors and an expected 50,000 visitors, the exhibition is still number one in global shipping. Running from September 9 to 12, the theme of this event will be innovation.
On top of the exhibition there is a conference, which this time is a bit different in that each day is a different topic: finance, the environment, defence, offshore and recruitment will be spread over five days.
Bernd Aufderheide, president and ceo of organisers Hamburg Messe und Congress, says: “Every two years Hamburg assumes the role of world capital of the maritime business for the duration of SMM, which is a major meeting place of the decision makers of the maritime industry.
