Sole readies rare sale

Sources tell Splash that Norway’s Sole Shipping, has put the nine-year-old 32,000 dwt bulker Fantholmen in the shop window.

This is a rare move by the 22-ship strong owner. Sole Shipping has been among Norway’s fastest growing owner over the last three years, adding nearly 20 ships since 2016.

Sole will most likely earn around $2m on the sale as the ship was bought for $6m from compatriot Western Bulk in 2016. VesselsValue sets the market value of the ship at $7.4m.

Sole Shipping’s aim is to structure sale and leaseback projects on bareboat charters.
