Solstad Farstad fixes two OSVs to Total in South Africa

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Farstad has been awarded contact by Total E&P South Africa for 2010-built large anchor handling vessel Normand Ranger and 2014-built platform supply vessel Far Starling.

The vessels have been contracted for one firm well, with a one-well option, supporting Total’s drilling campaign in Block 11B/12B.

The contract is expected to commence in the fourth quarter and have a duration of around 90 days.

Lars Peder Solstad, CEO of Solstad Farstad, commented: “This is a very exciting project to be involved in so we are delighted to be chosen by Total to partner them on this remote harsh environment drilling campaign.”

Both vessels are currently trading in the North Sea spot market.
