Norway’s Solstad Offshore has been awarded a new contract for two of its platform supply vessels.
Wintershall DEA have awarded Solstad a 10-well firm contract, with options, to support their campaign at West Mira. Commencement is scheduled for the third quarter of this year, and duration is estimated at around 30 months.
Solstad will utilise 2011-built PSVs Normand Falnes and Normand Naley for the contract.
Normand Falnes will come out of layup for the contract, and in the meantime the vessel has also secured a one-well contract from Vår Energi to support their Scarabeo 8 drilling operation in the Norwegian Sea. The contract is scheduled to commence in June and is for a period of 80 days. The contract keeps the vessel fully committed until the commencement of the Wintershall contract.
Earlier this week, Solstad was awarded extensions by Equinor for PSV pair Sea Frost and Sea Falcon, while Sea Surfer was awarded a new three-month contract by an unnamed client.
