Solstad Offshore wins Thai work for derrick lay barge

Solstad Offshore has won a contract with CUEL in Thailand for the provision of transportation and installation for phase 4 of JDA Block B-17-01 in the Malaysian Thailand Joint Development Area.

The job will utilise derrick lay barge DLB Norce Endeavour, which will install three new wellhead platforms, three subsea pipelines and host tie-ins.

Offshore work is due to commence in the third quarter of 2017 and be completed by the first quarter of 2018.

Solstad will provide project management, engineering, procurement and logistics support from it’s Singapore office.

Financial details for the contact were not revealed.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
