Songa Bulk appoints new CEO

Norwegian bulk carrier operator Songa Bulk has appointed Thomas Rønningen as the new CEO of the company, replacing Herman Billung.

Thomas Rønningen has served as CFO of the company since 2017.

The new appointment comes after Greek owner Star Bulk Carriers completed the acquisition of Songa Bulk, with Billung joining Star Bulk’s management team.

Star Bulk now operates a combined fleet of 108 vessels after the addition of 15 bulk carriers from Songa Bulk.
