Songa Container snaps up Hapag-Lloyd boxship

Arne Blystad’s container shipping unit Songa Container has acquired a 3,104 teu containership Norasia Alya from German owner Hapag Lloyd.

According to broking sources, Songa Container bought the 2004-built ship for $6.35m.

The acquisition will increase Songa Container’s fleet to four vessels.

Last week, Songa Bulk acquired 2010-built panamax bulker Midland Sky from Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation for $18m.
