Splash bolsters content with double tie-up

Splash, the leading site for shipping news, has teamed up with Marine Traffic to provide readers with unique access to details of any ship covered on this site.

Simply hover over a ship’s name in any article and details of the vessel – its age, deadweight, etc – will pop up. This useful addition to Splash will give readers far quicker insight into what’s happening in the market.

Commented Splash’s editorial director, Sam Chambers: “Providing up-to-the-minute, accurate news is at the heart of what we have set out to do. Complimenting this with key data from Marine Traffic means readers will be able to get a very quick and exact take on deals done in today’s volatile conditions.”

Meanwhile, when Marine Traffic users click on a ship, any news related to that vessel that has been covered by Splash will also pop up. Marine Traffic have also added a news feed from Splash to augment its site.

Also, launching today is the addition of a resident cartoonist on the Splash site. The Freaky Wave is a cartoonist with a wry take on Splash stories that should amuse readers. An ex-master, now pilot, the Freaky Wave has a regular spot on this site on the right side just below our roster of opinion writers. More cartoons can be found at his site here.

Splash intends to roll out plenty more services in the coming months as it positions itself as the world’s go-to site for original, exclusive shipping news.
