ST Shipping charters Scerni aframax duo

Glencore’s subsidiary ST Shipping has fixed two aframax tankers owned by Gruppo Scerni on one-year timecharters, each at a daily rate of $22,500.

SN Claudia (110,000 dwt, built 2009) and SN Olivia (110,000 dwt, built 2010) were erroneously reported sold last week by brokers, but Splash confirmed with Paolo Scerni that the tankers were not for sale and a charter deal was in the works.

The daily rate is a little below other one-year period charters reported for aframaxes recently. Earlier this week, brokers reported China Shipping Tanker has fixed Yasa Shipping’s Yasa Golden Bosphorus (115,900 dwt, built 2007) for 12 months at a rate of $26,000 per day.
