Star Bulk offloads ageing capesize

Athens: Drybulk giant Star Bulk Carriers has sold ageing capesize Star Mega (170,631 dwt, built 1994) to an unnamed party.

The company said the vessel was delivered to buyers yesterday with the bulker, formerly named Megalodon, expected to be scrapped.

Lowlands Beilun (170,162 dwt, built 1999) is now the oldest capesize vessel in the Star Bulk’s fleet. It is currently on time charter to a major utility company until August.
