Statoil exercises option on Dolphin Drilling semi-submersible

Fred. Olsen Energy subsidiary Dolphin Drilling has announced that Statoil has exercised a single well option for semi-submersible rig Bideford Dolphin.

Statoil awarded Bideford Dolphin a one well extension with option in April. With the option now exercised, the rig will be employed for an additional period of around 100 days.

The rig is operating for Statoil on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and the option is worth around $17.2m.
