Oslo: Norwegian energy giant has appointed from within for its new full time ceo, filling the void left by Helge Lund who quit in October to join the UK’s BG Group.
Eldar Saetre has stepped up from being the temporary ceo to take the role on a permanent basis. Saetre, 58, has more than 35 years’ experience with Statoil and in the oil and gas industry.
That the best candidate came from their own ranks is extra gratifying, said Statoil chairman, Svein Rennemo, in a statement.
