Stena and Hyundai Glovis to form car carrier joint venture

Stena Rederi, a shipping unit of Swedish shipping group Stena AB, and Glovis Europe, Hyundai Glovis’ German subsidiary, have filed an application with the EU seeking approval to form a joint venture.

According to the application the two companies will create a new joint venture company to operate short sea transport services for pure car and truck carriers in Europe. Other details of the jv were not revealed.

Hyundai Glovis is a logistics company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea and part of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group. The company operates a fleet of 34 car carriers.
