Stena Bulk passes on MR tanker options at CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering

Swedish tanker owner Stena Bulk has decided not to execute options for two 50,000dwt MR tankers at CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (CSSC OME).

The options were part of Stena’s firm order for three 50,000dwt tankers at the yard in November 2015.

Stena Bulk took delivery of Stena Imperative from CSSC OME on January 22, the fifth out of ten IMOIIMAX tankers it has ordered at CSSC OME, formerly Guangzhou Shipyard International in 2013. The remaining five vessels will be delivered before 2017.

Stena Teknik and CSSC OME were jointly responsible for the technical development of the IMOIIMAX concept.
