Stena Drilling semi-sub contract terminated

Stena Drilling has terminated a contract with Alpha Petroleum for 1983-built semi-submersible rig Stena Spey.

The two companies signed a deal for the rig last year, for eight wells firm and 15 optional wells, in the UK North Sea.

Stena says the contract has been terminated following “Alpha’s failure to secure finance for the project and a resultant delay in its commencement”.
