Stena Drilling to retire semi-submersible

Stena Drilling has decided to retire 1976-built semi-submersible rig Stena Clyde.

The rig, which entered the Stena Drilling fleet in 1996, is currently in Singapore having previously been warm stacked in Australia for three years.

“Although there has been some recent interest in operating the rig in the region, these opportunities have not materialised to the extent necessary to continue supporting the rig,” Stena Driling said in a statement.

The rig has now been put of for sale.
