Stephanie Jones Stebbins is named new managing director at Port of Seattle

The Port of Seattle, Washington, has named Stephanie Jones Stebbins as the new managing director of the port’s maritime division.

Previously Stebbins had been the port’s Director of Environmental and Planning Programs for six years. Before that she had been Director of Seaport Environmental for four years and Manager of Seaport Strategic and Facility Planning for five years.

Her new responsibilities will include merchant marine matters as well as cruise business, commercial fishing and recreational marinas.

Seattle forms half of the Northwest Seaport Alliance, a strategic partnership with the Port of Tacoma, just over 30 miles away. The alliance began in July 2015.

It brought terminal operations and marketing for the two ports under one management, while each port remained a separate organization that kept ownership of its respective assets.
