Stolt-Nielsen books up to six LNG bunkering vessels at CIMC Sinopacific Offshore

Stolt-Nielsen Gas, the small scale LNG vessel unit of Stolt-Nielsen Group, has placed an order at China’s CIMC Sinopacific Offshore for up to six 20,000 cu m LNG bunkering vessels.

The contract is made up of firm orders for two vessels, and two options of two additional vessels each. The vessels are expected to become the largest LNG bunker vessel is the world.

Stolt-Nielsen Gas currently has four 7,500 c um LNG bunker vessels under construction at Keppel Nantong, with deliveries scheduled in this year.

In October last year, Stolt-Nielsen, Golar LNG and Höegh LNG joined forces in a new small scale LNG shipping venture Avenir LNG. Stolt-Nielsen Gas holds 50% shares in the venture, while Golar LNG and Hoegh LNG each holds a 25% share.
