StormGeo appoints Carsten Mortensen as chairman

Norwegian weather intelligence specialist StormGeo has appointed Carsten Mortensen as non-executive chairman to its board of directors.

Mortensen was most recently in the position of CEO at Andreas Sohmen-Pao’s BW Group, where he spent four years. He resigned in September 2018, citing the constant travel between Singapore and his home nation of Denmark as a key reason for his decision.

Rikke Kjær Nielsen, partner at StormGeo’s owner EQT Partners, commented: “We are proud to announce Carsten as StormGeo’s new Chairman. In addition to direct experience with some of the company’s largest customers, he has an excellent track record of growing Nordic companies into global champions via a relentless focus on speed and execution, innovative business models and developing people. We also thank Jonas Persson for his valuable work as Chairman, particularly his successful efforts to advance StormGeo’s technology capabilities and look forward to the continued cooperation on technology related topics.”

Mortensen replaces outgoing chairman Jonas Persson with immediate effect.
