Subsea 7 awarded Johan Sverdrup contract by Equinor

Subsea 7 has been awarded a contract by Equinor for the Johan Sverdrup Phase 2 project in the North Sea, off Norway.

The contract scope includes the project management, engineering, procurement, construction and installation of around 100 km of rigid pipelines including 40km of pipe-in-pipe flowlines, 27 km of water injection and 37km of gas injection pipelines. Marine operations includes the installation of 23 km of umbilicals, tie-in spools and precommissioning.

Project management and engineering will commence immediately and offshore operations will be carried out in 2021 using multiple vessels including a diving vessel and reel-lay vessel.

Subsea 7 has classed the contract which puts its worth between $150m and $300m.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
