Subsea 7 details major Turkish deal

Subsea 7 has officially confirmed a major contract award from Turkish Petroleum for the second phase of the Sakarya field development offshore Türkiye in the Black Sea.

The Oslo-listed company said its work scope will cover engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of around 37 km of infield flowlines, 47 km of control umbilicals and associated subsea equipment in water depths of 2,000 m.

The contract also includes additional front-end engineering design (FEED) studies and options to further extend the scope of work. The project will be led by Subsea 7’s Istanbul office, with offshore work on the first phase expected between the second and third quarters of 2025.

An optional scope comes attached to the deal between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the fourth quarter of 2027, subject to a final investment decision.

Subsea 7 announced the award for this two-phase subsea development earlier this month without naming the client or the project name. The contract has been awarded to a consortium including Subsea 7 and OneSubsea, its partner in Subsea Integration Alliance, as well as SLB and Saipem. Subsea 7 said its share of the prize is worth over $750m.
