Symphony ups the tempo with asset play

Little known Bangladeshi company Symphony has doubled its money in just over a year in its first asset play.

Broking sources tell Splash that it’s just flipped a ship it bought in July last year, one of three bulker handies it bought in 2016.

Last year it took the 48,000 dwt Blue Sapphire from Greece’s Diversified Shipping for $3.3m.

The ship was renamed as Worldera 2 and has just been taken by unspecified Chinese interests for $7.4m.
