Tanker fire rages out of control off Vietnam

Singapore: A product tanker owned by Wilmar caught fire yesterday, and the crew have lost control of the ship. The 30,000 dwt vessel, Theresa Bitung, flagged in Tuvalu, suffered the fire in its engine room some 272 nautical miles southeast of Vung Tau off Vietnam. All crew left the ship yesterday, picked up by a passing Greek ship and have been taken to Hong Kong. [28/11/13]
