Tankerska Next Generation’s new MR tanker timechartered

Athens: Croatia’s Tankerska Next Generation (TNG) has fixed one of its MR product tanker newbuildings on a three-year timecharter to an unnamed “prominent” charterer.

Dalmacija (50,300 dwt, built 2015) was fixed at a rate of $17,750 per day for the period of the charter, which will commence in the last quarter of this year when the ship is delivered from South Korea’s SPP shipyard.

The charterer has the option to extend the vessel’s contract for an additional year at a rate of $19,750 per day, TNG said today.

“With employment of MT Dalmacija, Tankerska Next Generation repeated the level agreed for MT Zoilo and further strengthened its market position. This repeated success surpasses the level of fixtures achieved in April and the planned level during the initial public offering,” John Karavanid, president of the management board Tankerska Next Generation, said in a statement. TNG raised $31m from its IPO on the Zagreb Stock Exchange in March.

“I believe that this fixture will further contribute to achieving the objectives of Tankerska Next Generation Inc. The delivery of MT Dalmacija average age of our fleet will go under two years. This will surely pave the way for business success of our new company,” he added.
