Taylor Maritime handysize snapped up by Narval Shipping

Greek owner Narval Shipping has acquired the 1998-built handysize bulker La Louise from Hong Kong’s Taylor Maritime.

Brokers tell Splash the deal was done for $5.7m, with the vessel changing hands earlier this month and renamed to Ekaterina. MSI places the fair market value of the ship at $4.6m.

Splash understands the vessel may not have been fully owned by Taylor Maritime, with Japanese investors possibly involved.

Hong Kong-based Taylor Maritime was founded by Edward Buttery in 2014, and has built up a fleet of 28 vessels. Splash spoke to Buttery in detail about his plans for the company in the latest issue of Maritime CEO magazine, which can be accessed here.
