Technip’s contract extended at Petrobras’ base for flexible pipes

Petrobras has extended Technip’s five-year contract at its Flexible Pipes Logistic Base (BAVIT) by a further four years. The value of the contract extension was not disclosed.

The facility in Vitória, Brazil serves as the main load-out point for all Petrobras’ pre-salt flexible pipes and has storage capacity for 220 reels and a 300-tonne handling capacity.

Technip will continue to provide the storage, handling, inspection, testing, loading, internal cleaning and maintenance of flexible pipes for the Brazilian oil and gas producer.

“Technip is very proud of this contract. In 2016, the logistic base has reached the significant milestone of eight years of operation without lost-time injury,” Adriano Novitsky, president of Technip in Brazil, said of the extension.
