Thenamaris kamsarmax fixed on period charter

Oldendorff Carriers has fixed Thenamaris’ kamsarmax bulk carrier Seastrength on a five- to eight-month period charter.

The charter rate was reported at $6,750 per day, according to Baltic Exchange data. The vessel will deliver in Qinzhou, China between July 6-10.

Seastrength is the seventh bulk carrier and the third panamax Oldendorff has booked on period charter since the start of June.

London-based shipbroker Alibra Shipping today estimates six-month rates of $8,000 per day for panamaxes in the Atlantic basin and $6,500 per day for those in the Pacific, showing there remains a sizeable rate differential between two, although these rates are both upward revisions on last week’s estimates.
