Thor commits to Hull with multi-million dollar investment

Dutch shortsea specialist Thor Shipping is investing £6m ($7.67m) in the British port of Hull.

The 10-year deal with UK port operator ABP will see a new crane come to the east coast port to the 10-acre dock space leased by Thor.

Thor has trebled volumes shipped out of Hull since 2014 on regular services connecting the port with Sweden and Belgium.

“This agreement shows that both ABP and Thor are confident in committing to support the Humber region for a substantial amount of time, so much so, it’s double the length of the previous contract agreed in 2014,” Chris Green, ABP port manager for Hull and Goole, said.
