Three crew kidnapped from Eagle Bulk ship off Gabon

Three crew were kidnapped yesterday when the Grebe Bulker, a 2010-supramax belonging to Eagle Bulk, came under attack just after midnight from pirates at the Owendo Anchorage in Gabon.

The ship remains at anchorage with the remaining 17 crew reported unharmed.

The waters around Gabon and the Gulf of Guinea have become a hotspot for piracy in recent years with multiple attacks reported by Splash in the opening four months of the year.
