Three vessels blown away during typhoon

Shanghai: Although various precautions have been taken by shipyards and ports before Typhoon Haikui arrived, three vessels have been blown away during the largest typhoon to hit Zhejiang Province yesterday.

 A 57000dwt bulker, a 300000dwt VLCC in Zhoushan Cosco Shipyard, and a 120000dwt bulker in Longshan Shipyard were blown away. In order to prevent more damage, Ningbo Maritime Safety Administration sent two high-power tug boat to search for the missing vessels.

Currently all the three vessels has been located and two of them has been retrieved. [09/08/12]
