Tianjin Marine to order four LNG carriers at DSIC

Dalian: Tianjin Marine announced today that it has inked a letter of intention with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry (DSIC) for the construction of four LNG carriers, with capacities ranging from 160,000 cu m to 175,000 cu m.

According to the LOI, the price for each vessel is $200m-$230m and Tianjin Marine will confirm with DSIC on firm orders within six months.

Tianjin Marine said the LOI is part of the company’s long term development strategy.

In the meantime, Tianjin Marine said it will apply for an RMB220m loan from Tianjin North International Trust & Investment Co to replenish working capital. [30/04/14]
