Tianjin Port Group appoints new president

Tianjin Port Group has announced the appointment of Liang Yongcen as the new president of the company, replacing Lu Wei who left the position for another work arrangement.

Liang used to serve as the general manager of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry before he went into the political field and took a job as the chief executive of a district government in Tianjin.

The top management of Tianjin Port Group has been constantly changing in the past two years following the sacking of Zheng Qingyue, former president of the company, for dereliction of duty in the huge chemical blasts at the port’s warehousing area in 2015. Zhang lili, former chairman of the group, was arrested for corruption in September.
