Transocean awarded semi-submersible contracts

Offshore driller Transocean has revealed a number of new contracts in its latest fleet status report.

Semi-submersible rig Jack Bates has been awarded a two year contract offshore India at a dayrate of $127,000. Transocean Spitsbergen, also a semi-submersible, has been awarded two separate one-well contracts in the North Sea.

Lastly, semi-submersible rig Sedco 704 has been awarded a one well contract in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Transocean also revealed that it has decided to scrap the 1972-built semi-submersible rig Sedco 702.
