Transocean drillship extended by Petrobras

Offshore driller Transocean has been awarded a 790-day contract extension by Brazil’s Petrobras for 2009-built ultra-deepwater drillship Petrobras 10000.

The drillship will continue operating offshore Brazil with Petrobras until October 2021.

The extension is valued at around $185m, and Transocean will receive an additional royalty worth around $16m for the use of its patented dual-activity technology on the drillship.
