Transocean scores drillship deal in Brazil

New York-listed offshore driller Transocean has secured a contract for its ultra-deepwater drillship, Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 for work offshore Brazil.

The contract, with a national oil company, is estimated at $392m, excluding mobilisation fee of 90 times the contract dayrate.

The campaign is expected to start in the third quarter of 2023 and last for 910 days. The floater has been idle since January last year following its campaign with Shell in Brunei.
