Transport Capital taps former NordLB shipping head

Singapore investment firm Transport Capital has appointed a well known name in ship finance as a partner and co-head of its European operations. Oliver Faak, who used to head up NordLB’s shipping and aviation finance desk, will work out of Transport Capital’s Hamburg office.

Transport Capital managing partner Philip Clausius commented: “I am delighted to welcome Oliver as a partner in our organisation and think he will play a very important role in growing our suite of management and advisory services in Europe.”

Faak said of his appointment: “After many years of working at German banks I am very pleased to join a dynamic and flexible organisation like Transport Capital. I have observed the development of the company over the years and have been impressed with the quality of its people and its promising positioning at the intersection of transportation and the capital markets.”

Faak will be working alongside Henrik Haeder as co-head of the company’s Europe operations. It marks the third time the two have worked together over their careers.

Transport Capital also has an office in Athens.
