Tristar secures LNG shipping contract from BP

Dubai-based integrated energy logistics group Tristar has secured a contract from BP to provide LNG shipping services.

The four-year contract, valued at $24m, will cover a variety of LNG shipping services and comes after Tristar added its first LNG carrier Tristar Ruby to its fleet in December. The 2008-built vessel has a capacity of 155,000 cu m and will be technically managed by Wilhelmsen Ship Management and commercially operated by Tristar.

“We are pleased to be able to announce the value of our deal with BP, the first as we expand our presence into the LNG shipping market. This represents a strengthening of our relationship with BP, one of our core partners,” said Eugene Mayne, group CEO of Tristar.
