TS Lines orders feeder boxship pair at Kyokuyo Shipyard

Taiwanese containership operator TS Lines has confirmed an order for two 1,096 teu feeder boxships at Japanese shipbuilder Kyokuyo Shipyard.

The price for each vessel is $17m and delivery is scheduled in the second half of 2019.

In July 2017, T.S. Chen, chairman of TS Lines, revealed a fleet expansion plan to order four vessels made up of two 1,000 teu vessels and two 2,800 teu vessels. The company was also looking to acquire 4,000-6,000 teu secondhand vessels.

TS Lines currently operates a self-owned fleet of six vessels.
