Tunisia’s Cotunav kicks off $250m fleet renovation
Compagnie Tunisienne de Navigation (better known under the commercial brand CTN or Cotunav) will launch in the near future an important investment program in order to renovate its cargo fleet.
Ali Belgacem, chairman and ceo of the national shipping company of Tunisia, spoke at a press conference in Genoa saying the firm he heads will invest some $250m in the next four years fur purchasing four vessels: a 600 teu boxship, two 30,000 dwt bulk carriers and a roro ship that will replace another unit currently deployed on an intra-Mediterranean service. Both the bulk carriers will be operated for grain shipments to Tunisia, while the containership investment is part of a broader project including the new deepsea port of Enfida.
