Guangzhou: Panama-flagged bulk carrier Ultra Vanscoy, operated by Pacific Basin, collided with a fishing boat off Gulei in Fujian yesterday morning, the fishing boat subsequently sinking.
Currently one crew on the fishing boat is confirmed dead with another four still missing.
On the same morning, the Korean-flagged chemical tanker Woojin Chemi collided with another fishing boat off the north of Fujian. Six crewmembers of the fishing boat were rescued with another two still missing.
Currently the search for survivors is still ongoing. [05/08/14]
