UACC buys chemical tanker pair

Dubai: Dubai’s United Arab Chemical Carriers has spent $70m on a pair of four-year old tankers.

UACC paid $35m each for the 45,612-dwt Bunga Balsam and the 45,337-dwt Bunga Bakalawi. The ships were built in 2010 by Korea’s SLS Shipbuilding.

The latest pair add to the two bought this January and bring UACC’s total fleet to 17, predominantly MR tankers.
UACC is now run by its new ceo Per Wistoft, who joined earlier this year from Brightoil Shipping.  [10/04/14]
