UAE bauxite deal for K Line

Tokyo: Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) has concluded another deal with a long-term business partner, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA). K Line will transport about 5m tonnes of bauxite ore for EGA on capesizes over a long period.

The bauxite ore contract is for the alumina refinery that EGA plans to build in Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates.

K Line’s has a long history of cooperating with EGA, stretching back to 1979.

The Japanese shipping line’s recently announced medium-term business plan calls for a greater emphasis on capesizes securing medium and long-term charters.
