UASC moves North America headquarters

Dubai: United Arab Shipping Co (UASC), a global shipping firm formed by Middle Eastern nations to link the region with the rest of the world, is moving its North American headquarters to Gwinnett County in Georgia, USA.

“The strength of our ports is attracting global logistics companies such as United Arab Shipping Company to increase their presence here,” said Nathan Deal, a local government official. “With our skilled workforce and solid logistics infrastructure, it is clear that this state-of-the-art company will continue to support the boom of the shipping industry,” he added.

“UASC believes that Atlanta is the ideal spot to house our North American Corporate office for a number of reasons,” said Dr. Anil Vitarana, president of UASC ,North America. “Traditionally we’ve had a strong presence in the South Atlantic market and we believe that the Metro Atlanta area will offer us access to a pool of skilled employees. The excellent global airline network and the quality of life that the area will provide our staff also factored in our decision.”  [20/03/14]
